Leonard's is awesome 👍. My favorite hardware store in town. Great staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful and Jeff in paint is the best paint matcher in town. Here's a couple pretty wild colors he mixed to my customers delight.
⚠️Fair warning ⚠️ you need to come correct to get your paint matched, if you want it to match. NO, a picture won't work. Bring an old can or a piece of damaged drywall at least the size of a quarter if you want it matched. And, try to figure out what sheen was used. These ARE NECESSARY in order to correctly match paint. If you don't do this ...it is kinda funny because he'll get in a little bit of a tizzy, but if I'm...Leonard's is awesome 👍. I really wasn't planning on using this post as an advertisement of any sort. Google asked me to elaborate on the simple 5 star review that I have had on Leonard's for a while, and I started typing and now here we are..if you are having a hard time with gathering the correct items to get a color match the 4th picture is my business card without my phone number. You can Google me or ask at Leonard's, they know who I am. I don't mind coming by and giving you a couple pointers, or a bid. That's all I am going to say about that.
I used to go to the old Leonard's a bunch and it's definitely a change. A lot of the prices have gone up, but everything has gone up, not really much that they can do about that and still keep the doors open. Plus they are running a lot of higher end products now. They still have most of the old economical products that people are looking for but everything has gone up. It's not disproportionate to anywhere else you would have to purchase home improvement supplies.
The reason I am stressing this point is because that's the main complaint I hear, like it's that particular stores fault that prices are higher throughout the entire world. It's also a lot easier, as easy as it can be in a hardware store, to find parts, without having to work there full time and dedicate 40 hours a week to knowing how the store is laid out.
I miss a couple of the old guys that used to have the place memorized(what's up, Mikey) but as far as I know they were heading out the door anyway. I doubt that the remodel had much to do with them leaving.
Now you can find stuff easier and they have a public restroom!! I think the remodel was a very smart move, for everyone involved.

I went to Leonard’s on Dec 22nd ‘25 to get a key made for a private mailbox. At Leonard’s I was told it was illegal to copy a mailbox key. When I tried to explain it was not a USPS post office box key but from a mailbox I had purchased for my farm the female clerk got defensive and loud, to the point other customers heard and it made me feel like I had done something wrong. She clearly does not know the law and I would recommend training on the subject. I took my business to Freeman’s Locksmith where they happily copied my key. I have been a long time customer of Leonard’s and have never been treated so disrespectfully. won’t be doing busines...I went to Leonard’s on Dec 22nd ‘25 to get a key made for a private mailbox. If you have never been, you should check it out. This is probably the biggest Ace you will have ever been to. Not your average Ace. They have just about everything. We enjoyed it much more before the remodel thus the removal of a star. they had lots of old inventory we loved to go through that has since been removed to widen out the aisles.
