We had Homestar do our roof in late 2024- they did a good job though for a relatively high price compared to the local market. We thought it was worth the money because the company presented as stable, reliable, able to back up their work. However, when complications arose about how they re-installed an awning incorrectly (resulting in a broken awning, broken gutter, holes in the roof, and leaking into the house) they were EXTREMELY UNRESPONSIVE and gave us the runaround for 3 months. Still not fixed, not even a call back from the contractor. We are very unhappy with their failure to live up to their claims.

My first review was 1 star because it took 6 months to get my windows installed. The installation was 5 stars. Efficient and they did a great job. The day of installation, James stopped by to sell me more windows. I did orders more windows and a door and storm door. James told me several times, it certainly would not take 6 months again and probably less than the 6-8 weeks he had to put in the contract. Tom came out and measured for the new windows and doors. It’s now been 6 weeks and I haven’t heard anything back from HomeStar. Tom said they would send me a picture of the doors I ordered to confirm. That hasn’t happened. My windows and door have been installed. 15 weeks.
Again, the installation crew was great they arrived on time, got right to work and installed 3 windows and 1 bay window, a door and storm door. They worked steadily for 10 hours. The crew cleaned up after themselves and everyone was hard working, kind and respectful. Both installations are 5 star. Not so happy with my interactions before the install. The windows are great. My house is so quiet and warm now. My thermostat is set on 62 and I’m comfortable. The product and the installation teams are top notch.

If you are thinking about using this company, DONT! We had 10 windows and a front door installed by them in November 2025. To this day, March 8, 2026 WE ARE STILL DEALING WITH THEM WAITING FOR THEM TO FIX PROBLEMS ON OUR WINDOWS. 2 windows came in cracked, they installed them as is and we are still waiting for the correct parts to come in. Communication lacks badly! Summer who I assume works in scheduling, does not know what she is doing. We specifically told them to only contact my husband with questions and scheduling to come out to fix problems. Yet, she continues to call my cell to change appt times or cancel the appt. Due to the ongoing issues, Jim who is a project supervisor (whatever position he is in, I can't remember) promised us a whopping $100 gift card for all the inconvenience and issues we been having. That was a huge slap in the face as we spent thousands for new windows and a door. Again, to this day we have NOT seen the gift card. If I would have known we would still be dealing with this company I would have not even called them to set up a consultation. The company also has a very high turnover as one day you speak with one person, and the next time they call you to cancel your appt, they say "oh so and so no longer works here." Dont add extra stress to your life... STAY VERY FAR FROM THIS COMPANY! Their work and employees dont care about your house. They just want your money and will keep giving you the run around.

Homestar did a great job installing our new siding, replacing soffits and wrapping windows and doors. Sales, service and installers were all great. Looks like a new house. Beautifully done!
