Holmes transmission was recommended to me by a co-worker while having trouble finding a reliable,honest mechanic for my vehicle. It didn’t take long to realize that Mike is very knowledgeable, as well as his mechanics. They are honest, don’t attempt to upsell unnecessary parts or labor, and fairly priced. Awesome, honest, and a fair priced mechanic. Highly recommend for something as simple as an oil change and up to replacing a transmission. Their tire prices are best in town as well!
Our car broke down on the highway outside of Monticello, so we had it towed to Holmes Transmission and Repair. Mike was fantastic to work with, taking time to move things around to look at the car as soon as he could, all while being very transparent and honest every step of the way. It was apparent right away that he knew his stuff. The problem was diagnosed as a failing fuel pump/sending unit, and the only available part in the area was quickly sourced. Unfortunately, it was an aftermarket unit that did not quite fit, and Mike was very forthcoming about the fact that the fix wouldn't be quite right. All in all, we were able to get on the ro... My experience here was very positive. Instead of helping me out, they could have easily deferred me to a BMW mechanic to replace my transmission fluid & fluid pan. Everyone I encountered there was polite and down to earth. I definitely would recommend these guys.
