I bought a retro landline for $40. The phone says ”use for business system only”, to which they promised it would work with a standard phone cable.
Turns out it is in fact not compatible with the phone network. I called the shop and they told me to bring it in.
I brought it in and they told me to buy a converter. They run for around $800.
I bought the phone on the foolish belief that they wouldn’t purposely lie to sway a customer to buy an obsolete POTS phone/paperweight.
