Five Star Roofing is unquestionably one of the best and most efficient roofing contractors that I've had the pleasure of working with. John, the owner of Five Star Roofing, is a very personable and knowledgeable roofer in spite of his youthfulness. He follows up to ensure that his employees did a good job. He stands behind his work and warranty. I unreservedly recommend this company.
John was great. He came with a drone and reviewed exactly what I needed. He didn't try to upscale me or take advantage that he has way more expertise on roofing. He communicated clearly and consistently in between the estimate, repair and thereafter. The prices were very fair and they provide a warranty for their work. I highly recommend this company.
First off just let me say, I have used Five Star Roofing for multiple jobs. Each one was such a pleasure as they are such a smooth running company. The company is owned by a father and son, which is a great thing in my eyes and they made it enjoyable to do business with them. Throughout each job I have used them on, both of them have been very transparent and also very easy to communicate with. They answered each question, phone call, email with pleasure and very accordingly with timing. I originally left a 5 star review, but I have to downgrade it over something simple. I hired this company to remedy a leak and after laying a new layer over the entire roof, the leak is still present. John's communication was great until I informed him the leak was still there (he was paid in full at this point). This is when his responses slowed down. He eventually sent his guys back and they covered the top portion of my caps which greatly reduced the leak, but they didn't cover the bottom (see pics). In one of the pics you can see they covered the entire wall like we agreed too. If they would have taken 10 minutes to cover the under... I originally left a 5 star review, but I have to downgrade it over something simple. After his workers came back, It rained hard the very next day and it took along time for the leak to show, which lead me to believe we were close to completely sealing my roof. Unfortunately, after informing John of this, he has gone silent! 10 year warranty, don't count on it. All of this took place within one month after he received final payment. Although I was planning on having him do other work around my home which we discussed, I guess he's not interested at this point. Multiple voicemails and texts have gone unanswered. I waited on downgrading this review in case he was sick or on vacation (trying to give benefit of the doubt). If your looking for someone you can count on, I can no longer recommend this company! 5/3/24 - In my last voicemail I informed you I would be downgrading my review, still no response. When I actually downgrade the review you suddenly appear! The one wall which is not completely covered is directly over my interior leak, why not wrap it fully like you did else where? Response from John on March 23, 2024 "We're going to have to do a leak down test. (Use water hose and let it spray water on certain areas) to figure out this issue" Guess you changed your mind about doing a leak test, huh? You have my number!

To my disappointment, I wasn’t home during the work, and when I later inspected it, the roof didn’t even look like it had been fully redone. My neighbor also mentioned that it looked like they only patched certain areas rather than completing a full replacement.I was told I’d receive a warranty, but despite paying in full, I never got it—no email, no paperwork. Now, only two years later, I already have a leak in the roof they supposedly replaced. This is a late review, but I want others to be aware: be cautious before hiring this company.
