In the beginning, they seemed great. They came out to look at the fence, provided an estimate, were friendly, and followed up by email. Their communication was actually one of the main reasons we chose them, even though they were a little more expensive than some of the other companies. They also had good reviews online, so we felt comfortable moving forward.
Unfortunately, once we agreed to hire them, everything changed. The communication became terrible. We were told they would send an invoice so we could pay the 50% deposit and get scheduled, but days went by with no invoice. We had to contact the company directly just to get the invoice sent. After we paid thousands of dollars as a deposit, nobody confirmed they received the payment, nobody explained the next steps, and nobody gave us a clear schedule. It honestly started to feel very stressful, almost like once they had our money, we had to chase them for basic communication.
After more back and forth, we were told they would come on Monday. We informed our neighbors because the fence work affected them too, especially since they have dogs. Monday came and nobody showed up. No call, no message, no explanation, no reschedule. Tuesday also came and went with nothing. Then on Wednesday, workers randomly showed up at our door saying they were there to do the fence. Luckily we were home, but nobody had told us they were coming. Our neighbors were not prepared because they had been told Monday, not Wednesday, so their dogs were outside. Because of that, the crew could not even finish the job that day and had to come back Thursday.
The fence itself is okay, but the job was not completed properly. Both gates did not open correctly. They would not even open wide enough for normal use, like taking a large trash can through them for trash day. We told the workers while they were there, and they said they would fix it, but they did not. One of the gates was also missing a handle. Again, nobody responded.
Before paying the final balance, I reached out and explained the issues clearly. I was not refusing to pay. I just wanted the job finished properly and the invoice adjusted if materials from our existing fence were used. Still, there was no meaningful follow up. I had to contact the company again and message Jacob again before he finally came out. He fixed one gate and added the missing handle, but even though I clearly said both gates were not opening properly, the second gate was left as is. We are now going to have to fix that ourselves after spending a lot of money on this project.
The biggest issue with this company is communication. It was good before we chose them, but after we paid the deposit, it became extremely poor. We had to keep chasing them for updates, scheduling, follow up, and repairs. They missed the scheduled day without saying anything, showed up randomly later, created unnecessary stress for us and our neighbors, and did not fully correct the issues with the gates.
I would not recommend this company unless you are prepared to constantly follow up and deal with poor communication after they receive your money. The process was stressful and draining, and I have never had an experience like this with a contractor before. People should know what to expect before hiring them.
