I purchased a previously owned manufactured home that had been updated, but not cleaned. The fireplace was absolutely filthy with lots of ash, chunks of wood and looks like the guy burned trash in the fireplace. I needed to have it cleaned so I could breathe. I started calling around to get prices. The only company that would quote me a complete price was Detroit City Sweep, LLC. The lady who answers the phone is very professional and helpful. She was able to get me on the schedule for the following Wednesday. The two gentlemen called to say they would be here in 45 minutes. They were on time, very professional and nice too. They got to work right away and within an hour had everything so clean. They even cleaned the glass doors. I am very impressed with this company and highly recommend them. They even offered to take out a bag of trash for me on their way out the door. Very, very nice. I will definitely use their services again next year.

I had a chimney leak that was dripping water into the house. Knowing it was from the chimney, I called Detroit City Sweep. They sent a tech out, Nate, the very next day. He inspected and found the problem really fast. I needed a new chase cover for the top. Since they custom make their chase covers, it was going to be some time before the part was ready. Nate went above and beyond and climbed back up on the roof to wrap the chimney with a tarp I had to ensure no further damage to the inside of the home while the part was fabricated.

When installation day came, my tech - Dean, showed up on time and replaced the cover without any issues. He even made sure to walk the grounds below the chimney to make sure any dropped nails or screws were picked up before he left. Dean is very knowledgeable about all things fireplace related and not only did he fix the leak, he taught me a few things along the way.
The new chase cover they brought out was 1000x better than the construction grade that was on there before that failed. It was made of better materials and covered more of the chimney top than before. I have no doubt the new cover will outlast me and the house.
Great Job Detroit City Sweep!!!! A++++ in my book!!
Highly recommend to anyone who needs a chimney looked at.
I have seen some reviews that their prices are a little higher, and although that may be true, remember you get what you pay for. The quality of the cover they made and brought out was worth every cent!!!

I couldn’t be more pleased with the chimney and brick work completed by Detroit City Sweep. From start to finish, their professionalism and attention to detail were outstanding. Dean, the installer, did an excellent job, his craftsmanship is top-notch, and you can tell he truly takes pride in his work. The brickwork looks flawless and safe. The whole process was smooth, on time, and hassle-free. I highly recommend Detroit City Sweep and especially Dean for anyone in need of quality chimney or masonry work!

I have a gas fireplace, but there are soot streaks on the facing bricks from running the fire. So I called for an inspection. I was told inspection is free. Their employee came to the house, immediately began rearranging the logs, replaced the batteries in the receiver, using my batteries, and said the logs were not placed properly which caused the streaks, then charged me $181.00. For less than 15 minutes. And using my batteries, for that price he should use his companies batteries. When I called I was told the inspection was free, which is the reason I used them. So I had an unexpected payment of $181.00. I am angry about this and I strongly recommend NOT using this company. Thumbs down!
