Needed rear derailleur pulley wheels on my road bike. Tech upsold me on full service, saying chain was out of spec (it wasn't), and bar tape was ripped (it was, but still worked). With pulley wheels and full service, quote was $320. Picked bike up and bill was $390 because they said the bike needed new brake pads (it didn't). Went on a ride today and brakes were not properly adjusted and squeaked. Computer was removed and put on backwards. Neither speed nor cadence worked. Amateurs. Would not recommend. Boyd? the owner just called to discuss the review. He had not looked at the photo or videos of the issues I had. He said there is... Needed rear derailleur pulley wheels on my road bike. He had not looked at the photo or videos of the issues I had. He said there is 30 day, free adjustment after service. I told him that I was not going to allow his techs to do work on my bike anymore, so he hung up on me. Unprofessional.
Called to inquire about a Flat Tire around 3ish, The Customer Service over the phone was nice. had to run some errands and came in 15 minutes before they closed, and the gentleman at the front greeted me kindly. They took my bike to the back, fixed the flat, and they tightened the screws on my front tire (that came off when I got there). The gentleman at the front educated me on a couple things about my bike, and showed me some of their products while I waited, Overall, Chill, Quick, Affordable, and kind service! Will definitely be my spot for any bike troubles I may have in the future.
I have been in the market for a new ride—specifically, a full-suspension bike—for the past 4 to 5 years. I’ve been mountain biking with a cross-country hardtail for nearly 12 years, and in all honestly, some of my fondest memories are on the biking trails or the sights it has taken me to. As my endurance and riding skills improved, I realized I wanted a full-suspension setup to tackle more technical terrain and features with greater control and confidence. The Tallboy 5, specifically the CC X01, caught my eye at the bike shop due to its impressive geometry and use of high-end components, amount of front and rear travel, lightweight CC carbon... As my endurance and riding skills improved, I realized I wanted a full-suspension setup to tackle more technical terrain and features with greater control and confidence. The Tallboy 5, specifically the CC X01, caught my eye at the bike shop due to its impressive geometry and use of high-end components, amount of front and rear travel, lightweight CC carbon frame, and, most importantly, price point. These upgrades were huge compared to my previous ride. Additionally, when the bicycle shop owners shared with me about Santa Cruz's lifetime warranty on both the frame and its bearings - it gave me the peace of mind that I needed for a big-ticket item. While some cyclists enjoy the ritual of getting a new bike every year, I anticipate that this will likely be my last new bike purchase. Therefore, it was important for me to find a bike that I could enjoy in most terrains and one that I could service for my lifetime. With all that said, I want to conclude by expressing my gratitude to Dallas Bike Works, Santa Cruz, and everyone involved in these teams who contribute to the sport of cycling - and a special shoutout to Boyd and Stephen. Please continue to provide people with rewarding and life-changing experiences and continue to push the boundaries of the sport.
