ROBIN ALBANESE
This review is long overdue. There are many people out there that tend to “make” time to write negative reviews of businesses but rarely “find“ time to write a positive one. Over the last 4 to 5 years, I acquired a few extremely rare, collectible and limited edition BMX bicycles. I was fortunate enough to acquire each bike still packaged in the factory packaging with boxes unopened. That being said it was time to find someone in my small town that possessed the attention to detail that I have to assemble these bicycles. Was it something I could do? Yes however, time never seemed to present enough of itself. I started looking online at differ... I started looking online at different bike shops, some closer than others and read their reviews. After reading the reviews for Cycle and Go, I found myself interested in going into the shop and seeing what it was all about. I was greeted by Marvin, the owner of the shop. He was welcoming, friendly and looked me in the eyes while speaking to me… which I hold of high value. Marvin and I had a good conversation. I described to him what I was about, my expectations in the final assembled product of each bike as well as my concern for perfection. I could tell by Marvin’s responses, body language and tone of his voice… that he was the right guy for the job. He and I set up a schedule in which I would drop off one bike at a time and once ready, pick that completed bicycle up while dropping off the next for assembly. During the assembly of bike one, Marvin was kind enough to send me photos of the progress and the things that he was doing differently than that in which the factory had done originally. He upgraded lubricants and checked things that most bicycle shops would not check with the assumption that the bike was fine right out of the box. Not Marvin. He went above and beyond. Each bike that he did for me experienced the exact same process. Throughout the process of the assembly of my bicycles, It became abundantly clear the Marvin wasn’t just going to be my bike guy, but someone I could call a friend. This is rare when doing business with people especially when it’s your introduction to doing business with them. Marvin treated my bicycles like they were his own… even placing each one in his own private office while they awaited my arrival to pick each up. Just another example of how he understood how important these were to me. He made sure that they were not touched by anyone else other than himself, including customers that visited his store. He did this because he cared. He did this because he understood me. All the bicycles came out perfectly, looked amazing and operated flawlessly. Marvin has without a doubt gained a customer for life with our family. I can assure you that I do my due diligence in checking out those that I do business with. Marvin is top-notch in every definition of the term. If you are looking for someone from the simplest of bike maintenance, to the most complex, to the purchasing of a new bicycle or even just some basic bicycle knowledge… Marvin is the guy to go to. I cannot recommend him enough.
