Cost Cutters is the one of the most professional contractors I have ever worked with. They do quality work, take the time to answer your questions and address concerns, and work to ensure customer satisfaction. They kept us informed every step of the way while finishing our basement and pouring our patio. I highly recommend them!
They took the job quickly (and I really was needing to start quick on the bathroom remodel), and had great customer service and documentation. I think Yana does a great job on that side of things. The intial consultation was part of why I went with Cost Cutters. They provided a clear contract, showed proof of insurance, and talked me through the plan prior to start. The price was competitive with 2 other quotes I had. They started when they said they would, which was great. And as we near the finish of the project, I am very happy with how its turned out, and am ready for it to be done. The main issue for me, was that I felt that they were... The main issue for me, was that I felt that they were willing to cut corners and that I had to micromanage them to make sure things were up to my standard. I don't like that, and I know they don't like it. To some degree this is always the dilemma with contractors (they want done quickly, the customer wants quality craftsmanship. Different incentives on both sides) I think this would have been navigated better if Gary was someone easy to work with. This is just my opinion but, I don't like working with him. And maybe that's a me problem, because I do have high standards especially having a background in both management and residential property manangement. But what isn't a me problem is that Gary doesn't communicate well. He doesn't give you a clear plan of what the scope of work is for the day or the week or escalate well if something odd comes up. It was frustrating and the void in communication is filled by Yana, but then you are playing a game of telephone. Gary also didn't show up within the arrival windows planned. Which is fine...if he would just communicate delays. Anyway, I'm writing this now before I change my mind. Fingers crossed we close out this bathroom reno strong. I want to see a small business succeed and Cost Cutters did bring our vision to life, but...I can't work with Gary again. Though, you dear reader may have a better vibe with him. This is just my 2 cents.
My husband and I absolutely loved working with Cost Cutters for renovating our kitchen and bathroom. They were very efficient, friendly, and were able to get both areas of our home renovated for the cost that some other companies proposed to do just our kitchen. Highly recommend and would definitely use again!
I contracted Gary with Cost Cutters to remodel my bathroom. The project which included replacing the tub with a tile shower, taking the walls down to the studs and replacing with drywall, painting and installing a new medicine cabinet. Cost Cutters promised to email us a work schedule for the following week. While we did receive an email with the days Gary was would be working, we were never given a timeframe that he would be working. So, we had to be home and available all day without knowing when he might show up or when he would be working until on any particular day. Our work schedules and availability were not took into consideration ei... I contracted Gary with Cost Cutters to remodel my bathroom. Our work schedules and availability were not took into consideration either. Gary did complete these tasks but his work was shotty especially the medicine cabinet install and drywall. He messed up the ceiling over the shower which he did not fix even after I pointed it out to him. The drywall is already bubbling up at the seems and there are big gaps around the medicine cabinet. Gary repeatedly told me he would make me happy with the job before he left but that was not true. He was finished with the job when he was happy with it not me, the paying customer. It didn’t matter as long as he thought it was good even after we pointed out the issues to him repeatedly. He told us he would not leave the job until we were satisfied with his work and all of our issues were corrected but that was a lie. He told us he would fix the problems but instead we were blamed for the issues that were caused by him trying to rush through the job. About half way through the project it was like anything to get done with my job as fast as possible to move on to the next job. We would not recommend Cost Cutters and will not be using them for any future jobs.
