Utilities rarely get any positive attention, and as an electrical industry professional I hope the people of Gallup/Grants and surrounding County areas get to see this particular information. CDEC just experienced a major service disruption in the area north of Gallup affecting over 2600 service points (generally defined as households and businesses). This is indicative of a major hardware failure; however, and much to my surprise, CDEC had crews available and onsite and power was restored in astonishing short order. By my own observations, the disruption lasted only 90 minutes. That is very positive, and the affected customers really should... That is very positive, and the affected customers really should appreciate the level of technical proficiency it takes to produce such a system level repair that quickly given the extreme rural nature of the area. Great job CDEC electrical crews and support staff!!
Customer service lacking, the two ladies I spoke to are dismissive and abrupt. Before I finished my sentance the first lady shoved my call in the automated line, I called back got a different lady so before she does the same to me I requested she hear me out before transferring my call. All I wanted to do before hitting the automated line was to verify an account number!
