About this business

Columbus Electric Co-Op is a nonprofit, consumer-owned electric system established to provide electric service to rural areas of southwestern New Mexico and southeastern Arizona. Incorporated in 1946 and energized in 1949, the cooperative serves over 3,000 customers with more than 2,000 miles of line and over 5,000 meters. Columbus Electric Cooperative offers services including electric service provision, billing and payment management, financial assistance, energy efficiency programs, and rebates on appliances and outdoor power equipment. The cooperative also provides safety information, outage response, and community programs such as scholarships and youth tours. The governing Board of Directors meets monthly, with an annual meeting held in spring.

Worst power company I have ever had, by far. Power is constantly going out and often takes hours to get it back on. Also the rates seem pretty high compared to other power company’s I have had in the past. Premium price for substandard service!! Do better!!

Power is always going off call the office and no one knows anything they transfer you to Albuquerque they know we live in a problem area and have outages all the time, but don't seem to do anything about it. They don't seem to mind charging a bundle for what they do provide

Always losing power. Takes hours to get back on. Once had something rapped around one my my power lines dew to bad weather wanted to charge me $50 to cut off power to remove it. Was and still is stealimg power we produce, and selling it back to us at 10x the rate. When we produced it. No one in the office will do anything by state law. You will need to contact the attorney general's office to report the issue. Bills and meters mess up every month. Meters use themselves even when all breakers are off. They will tell you all equipment is new must be fine.oke thing I learned if it's shinny doesn't mean it's good. Had the meter changed once in Ju...
