I was at college park bicycles to purchase a bicycle for my birthday. They have a wide variety of bicycles and are also into repairs. I was well attended to by Carolyn. She was very attentive, patient and most importantly was able to work around my budget. I was impressed I was able to purchase a used bicycle on a short notice despite of the bike shortage due to Covid 19. I am a very satisfied customer so I hereby highly recommend.

CP Bicycles is not a good place.
During the summer, I brought them a bike for repairing. I tried explaining the issue I was having: the gear-change system seems to strain the rear wheel and, sometimes, upon adjusting a gear change, the chain would get stuck. Upon readjusting, the wheel crooked and would get stuck in the bikeframe.
I brought the bike with the hope of getting this fixed, or at least getting some diagnosis better than what I could do myself. This wasn't the case. The treatment from the person who attended me wasn't good. Unnecessary comments like "this is not a good bike" and "I don't understand why people get bikes like these...CP Bicycles is not a good place.

The treatment from the person who attended me wasn't good. Unnecessary comments like "this is not a good bike" and "I don't understand why people get bikes like these instead of buying them from us" kept interrupting the conversation and my exposition of the bike problems. I figured that the person probably knew a great deal about bikes and would be able to infer the issues by himself.
They charged me $100 for the service, and two days later, the bike had the exact same issue. I ended up taking it to UMD's bike shop and some student (not a specialized person that makes a living out of repairing bikes, just a student) ended up fixing it. Apparently, the wheel, being old, was out-of-dish and the spores needed readjusting. He spent some time doing that and the bike now runs well.
CP Bicycles took my money and didn't fix a problem with my bike because they were inattentive and incompetent. Horrible treatment, horrible service, and just a disappointment overall. Taking $100 from someone for their bike to be unrideable is certainly not a good way to conduct a business.

The service here is EXCELLENT. Will is incredibly knowledgeable and spent a ton of time with me, listening to what I need in a bike and making a really thoughtful recommendation. He explained everything clearly and was very transparent. I’m confident that I got the right bike and I am so glad I gave this shop my business.
