If I could give Marc a -5 stars I certainly would. In December 2022, while carefully cleaning my 94 year old mum’s beloved chandelier that she and my dad brought home from an Italian import shop in San Francisco in the 1970’s, I dropped one of the hand made glass leaves and it broke in half. I felt sick about it, as my dad has recently passed, and she has fond memories of their travels. Forward to October 2025, after two years and nine months I finally received what I thought was a package with a new glass leaf for my mum’s vintage hand blown Italian chandelier from Marc Konys. Instead, I received the same two pieces that I originally sent him, in February 2023, wrapped up, apart, in the same sheet of bubble wrap. Needless to say, I was shocked! I immediately phoned Marc to ask him, “what kind of a joke he was playing “? He was immediately furious with me and said that he ,”did what I had asked; a repair”. I said, “No. I asked for a whole new leaf, it wasn’t even repaired, the two pieces that I sent were returned separately, not in any way put together “. He was very angry and short with me, asking me if I wanted a refund and I said, “Yes”. He then abruptly hung up on me. Initially, when I broke it, I thought that I could glue it together by myself, but due to the angle of the stem, and the weight of the leaf, it wouldn’t work. Back in February of 2023, I had sent Marc pictures of the chandelier with the remaining in tact leaves and also pictures of the broken leaf and Marc told me that he could indeed make a replacement leaf and that it would cost me around $300.00 to “get it on his bench “and I agreed. He told me specifically how to ship the item, and so, February 2023 I sent the broken leaf to him as a model that he could use to make a new one. After about one year, I began contacting Marc, as I was wondering about the process taking so long, but he wouldn’t answer his phone. After one and a half years of leaving voice messages and not hearing back, I then asked my brother to call Marc, as I felt that he was screening my calls, which I had now escalated to monthly occurrences. So, at around 2 years of waiting, my brother called from Washington State and made inquiries with Marc, he then agreed to send the new leaf out to me promptly. Nine months and two years later, in September 2025 and here we are… Since he has proven himself to not be a man of his word, who knows if or when I will even receive my full refund. If, by some miracle Marc decides to refund me in full, I will update here. My precious mum is going to be 97 in January 2026 and I am very upset with the whole situation.
