Sorry for the long post. We commissioned Ryan to restore our kitchen table and chairs and there was a misunderstanding of the project scope. I would like to say that the restoration was well done other than the leaf as explained below. We agreed to pay the additional amount so that we would get the job done. On one occasion when I visited his shop he tried to intimidate me by telling me that I was under surveillance, so I suggest to him that he go back to my first visit and check on what we had agreed on. During the process I asked Ryan to let me know when he had the table striped so that I could take pictures but after a week of text, phone calls and going to his shop (he was not there) I got a message from him telling me that my table was done and demanded that I go to his shop and pay (which I did) before he would deliver our property. We agreed on a date and time and Ryan dropped off our table and chairs on our driveway without notice as you can see in the picture. My wife and I are over 70 and had to bring it in ourselves. About a month later we had company and when I put the leaves in I noticed that one of the was lighter colour than the table and the other leaf. I sent Ryan a text message with a picture on a Monday Nov. 17th and never heard anything from him, so on Thursday Nov. 20th I called him and left a voicemail with no reply. I have attached photos to support this review. So, if you are going to commission Ryan ensure that you get every little detail in writing including how long it will take and the consequences as well as the location of the delivery so that your furniture doesn’t just get delivered to you driveway. Also you might want to check his reviews and see when they were posted as compared to others in his field.
Ryan is very friendly and an obvious professional at his work. He explained the process of refinishing my furniture in full and was sensitive to my requests. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the outcome!
I purchased a used, badly painted and damaged china cabinet. I had a vision, that with a good restoration company this sad piece could be quite amazing. Brian took the cabinet and made it look spectacular beyond my hopes. The broken parts were repaired, the hidden gems were revealed and I’m one happy customer. Thank you.
Great workmanship and excellent communication! Ryan repaired my Eames Lounge Chair (original, built in 1974). He explained to me in detail how he was going to attempt the repair, and the expected timelines - he delivered just that. Thanks, Ryan! I owe you this review that’s two and a half years overdue.
