I had a great experience last night at this Ace location. I was having some car trouble and I ran into ace to get what I needed. I was unaware the store was about to close, but nonetheless I received top tier customer service. Im terrible with names, but I believe Teegan (Teagan?) Was the employee who helped me. He walked me over to exactly what I was looking for, rung me up, and after the store closed and that employee clocked out, he came over and assisted me with my car troubles of his own volition. I can't recommend this location enough, if I could give it 6 stars I would, and ill be coming back. Thanks!

In a world where big box stores have taken over and service is no longer a priority, it such a wonderful experience to shop here. The employees truly care about their customers. We esp. want to give a shout out to Kevin and Nick who have on multiple occasions helped us and have gone over and beyond what is expected for customer care. Ordered an electric lawn mower online from Essex Ace and because I live in Burlington, delivery was not an option. I was told online I’d get an email within 24 hours confirming I could pickup.
After ~48 hours I call Essex Ace and am told the supervisor may have tried to deliver my lawnmower without any contact with me (no email, call, text). The rep I spoke to searched the store and could not find my lawn mower.
After a while we realize that supervisor did probably deliver to a FORMER address of mine 25 minutes away from my current home.

The kicker is it rained on the mower, too — he just left it unpackaged in the rain. No longer a new item imo.
Ace Hardware, please make the effort to follow the delivery instructions of an order and don’t randomly deliver a clearly requested pick-up item. And if you do deliver, make sure someone is home to accept the item and get a notification sent out to the customer. You know….basic customer service. It’s a nice thought in theory but in this instance very unprofessional.
Two reps I spoke to on the phone were fine. They each get a star.
