Thank you Avista! For having caring Customer Service Representatives and hard working crews! We were notified yesterday evening, that due to the widespread damage across the area, from the recent wind storm, that we might be able to get power on as soon as late Friday. Three whole days of no power, in December is a hard pill to swallow. We rent. No secondary heat source. All appliances are electric so no way of really cooking for my children. Classic government monopoly taking advantage of anyone and everyone without any care for what people think of them because legally they can have no competition. I needed to move a meter on my property about 20 feet to the other side of my driveway, so I hired an electrician that I trust. But he isn't allowed to hook it up to Avista's transformer, he can do everything besides the final wiring from the transformer to the meter. Avista says they will require a 4 man team for 4 hours at $60/hour to run a short wire to the transformer box. $2,238 in total to do that. Terrible Business practice my fiancé and I just moved into our new home in August and we were never sent any bill through mail, email, phone call/text, ZERO communication from the company. Today we received a bill with a past due and in collections!! We called and were told "oh well nothing we can do pay it or we shut off your power." This company's goal is to take advantage of their customers and needs to be investigated.
