Best appliance service in Jacksonville, Victor fix my refrigerator in same day
Absolutely terrible experience. I contacted this company because my refrigerator’s ice maker and water dispenser stopped working. A technician came out and told me not only did a small piece in the filter casing need to be replaced, but that the entire water lines throughout the refrigerator also needed replacement. I was quoted an extremely expensive repair and paid half upfront for the first visit. The technician specifically asked me what day and time worked for him to return with the parts and complete the repair. We agreed on Wednesday between 3–5 PM, and I was told he would personally call me when he was on the way. By almost 5 PM, I h... Absolutely terrible experience. The technician specifically asked me what day and time worked for him to return with the parts and complete the repair. We agreed on Wednesday between 3–5 PM, and I was told he would personally call me when he was on the way. By almost 5 PM, I had still heard nothing, so I contacted the company myself only to be told they didn’t even have the part and I was never scheduled for service in the first place. At that point, I decided to get a second opinion from another family-owned company with a very similar name. Their technician immediately told me that ONLY the tiny piece in the filter casing needed to be replaced and that the repair would cost about a quarter of what I was originally quoted. He also mentioned that they regularly hear from customers who experienced similar situations with this company involving inflated pricing and poor service. APPLIANCE DOCTORS is NOT APPLIANCE PROS!!! They are trying to impersonate the small business. Be aware of who you book with!!!! When I called to cancel the second appointment and explain the situation, I was told a manager would contact me within 24–48 hours, yet they conveniently could not provide me with any direct contact information for management. This entire experience felt dishonest, disorganized, and incredibly unprofessional. I wasted time, money, and trust dealing with this company. I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any expensive repairs from them.
Total scam. The technician told us the compressor was shot and we should buy a new fridge, then immediately charged me $460 to put Freon in that same broken compressor. He promised a 50% refund if it didn't work. It failed within two days, and the company even admitted he shouldn't have done the 'repair.' Now they are refusing to honor the refund, only sending back $50. They prey on customers' hopes for a quick fix they know won't last. Save your money and go elsewhere."
Update to my review: the owner, Victor, called me today and apologized for the poor communication and for not getting back with me sooner (he was on vacation). He immediately resolved the issues I wrote about in this review. Because he resolved the issues, I am giving Appliance Doctor Pro a 4 star review. Prior review: I had a terrible experience with Appliance Doctor Pro. My dryer stopped running while I had a wet load of laundry in it as well as a wet load of laundry in the washing machine. I needed a quick repair so I looked for a business that was close to my house and that is the only reason I used Appliance Doctor Pro. The technic... The technicians came to my house and said that they did not have the parts and would need to come back two days later. They quoted me a price, asked for half the money (which I did not give them because they requested since I was paying with a check that I give them the full amount when the part came), but did not give me a detailed bill to show how much I was paying for each part and for labor in order to get the total bill. After they left, I called and left a message requesting a detailed bill and to use the $20 off coupon on the website. No one returned my call that day, so the next day I called again and was told that one would be provided to me. I did not receive the detailed bill the second day and the third day, when the return visit was scheduled, I called for a third time requesting a detailed bill and was told that the technicians would give it to me when they came. My service call was scheduled for 12 o’clock to 3 o’clock and at 3 o’clock. No one had shown up. I called the company and they had no idea what time the technicians would be there, but would call me back. One hour later, no one had called me and so I called them. Still, they did not know where the service techs were or what time they would be there. Finally, around 5 o’clock the technician showed up and said they were unable to give me a detailed bill nor could they give me the $20 off coupon, but the owner, Victor, would provide that for me if I would call Monday morning. I felt like I was getting the runaround and that I was being lied to and voiced this to the technicians, but they assured me that Victor would give me the detailed bill and the refund of $20 on Monday. So, Monday I called and requested to speak to Victor and was told that he was unavailable so I left a message asking that he give me a call. I did not hear from him Monday or Tuesday, so I called again on Wednesday and asked to speak to Victor and was told that he was unavailable and once again I asked them to have him call me. The person I spoke with also had the audacity to say to me “you do know that Victor is the owner don’t you” which to me implied that because he was the owner he didn’t take customer calls. I did not hear from him on Wednesday, so on Thursday I sent a text message requesting that Victor called me. I did not hear from him on Thursday, so on Friday I sent an email asking that he give me a call. That has been two weeks ago and I still have not heard back from Victor. Appliance Doctor Pro is a shady business with very poor communication. Because they would not provide me with verbal or written amounts for how much the parts and the labor cost for my visit, I feel that they were overcharging me and couldn’t come up with amounts to match the total price they charged me. In hindsight, I should have checked reviews and the Better Business Bureau site before having them come out to fix my dryer. If I had, I would’ve found that they have an average rating of 2 stars and the Better Business Bureau rating is a D-. Please, do not use this company, and if you do use them, make sure that you get a detailed invoice stating what you’re actually paying for.
