We stopped by for the Iowa Renaissance Festival (which was very fun) and then cruised through town and stopped by The Chocolate Haus as we were looking for some ice-cream afterwards. The ice-cream was fantastic and they have do many other treats to choose from! Very cool area. Rustic charm everywhere you look....planning on heading back as there's alot to explore.
We had a great visit at the Amana colonies. There were some great shops and places to eat in town. It's fun learning about the interesting history. Highly recommended.
The Amana Villages are a wonderful place to visit, full of history, charm, and character. The historic buildings, small shops, and overall atmosphere are very welcoming and unique. I visited after 5 pm, and many activities and shops were already closed, so I’d recommend visiting during the daytime to get the full experience. Still a peaceful and enjoyable place for a relaxed walk and a nice day trip.
This was a great overnight destination for us. We found good food, lots of history, and walkable shops. Our accommodations at the Millcreek Inn were excellent.
