Akamai glass came through in spades! We needed to have shower glass installed and they did a terrific job. The guys were professional and the installation flawless. I am grateful that they made a hike to the north shore even when they did not have too many jobs here. Much appreciated!
Stay away from Akamai glass! This place is a complete joke. First they won’t return your call when they say they will call back with pricing. Second they act like your phone call and business is an inconvenience. It is clear that both son and mom who are now the owners didn’t want to take this company over after the original owner died. They lack customer service due to their cold demeanor, rude attitude and unprofessional behavior. I ordered from them and it took two months to get the glass installed and here is what it looked like after install. The installers broke the glass and caused thousands of dollars of damage to my bathroom. I get that accidents happen but it’s what happened after this that is beyond acceptable. Zac (owner) told my husband he would get a new piece of glass in 10 days instead of the 6-8 weeks. Sherry the owner emailed us and said her insurance was contacted three times and if they don’t call her back then she can’t get my bathroom fixed. After two weeks I finally got a call from her insurance company who told me the two week hold up was because she was calling the wrong number. We are out of a shower in the bathroom without this glass and it was very clear she just didn’t care at all. Then while we’re trying to get things fixed so that the new glass could be installed we get a check in the mail from Sherry of our deposit money back. No email no call and now we wasted 15 days of not ordering glass from a different glass company. Are you kidding me??? Totally unacceptable that she canceled the order without telling us. Not only did she damage the bathroom but then canceled the glass that her son told us we would get rushed to us. We lost the use of the primary shower for longer then necessary all because of Sherrys unprofessional way of doing business. Her thoughts are if I have to call my insurance then your not getting my glass and I won’t even have the decency to tell you so childish, but that is what most of the reviews speak about on this company. It’s not the glass that’s the problem it’s the owners. Read the reviews on yelp too before hiring these people.
I needed my the door to my store fixed ASAP. Akamai fit me in and got a quality repair done quickly at an affordable price. Mahalo nui! I will definitely use your services again.
Last week a thug kicked in my business' front glass door Saturday morning to do a Smash-n-Grab at 5:30am. After the cops left and we cleaned up all the broken glass I called Akamai Glass because they had helped us replace our door glass back in 2011. Their phone message said they weren't open on Saturday but I could "press '6' for Chari's cell phone." I pressed '6' and got Chari. She said a crew was going to be working that Saturday and she would send someone over to measure and get me a quote. Someone was there by 8am to measure - I got a quote texted to me by 8:15a which I accepted and Juan and Nagner were there putting in replacement... Got a quote on a two way mirror for a "Magic Mirror" project. Although the cost was on the steep side, their response was very quick. I've noticed most local companies seem to ignore their emails, but not these guys. The price was $300+ for a 16" x 24" (Standard medicine cabinet size). But this would be actual glass, not Plexiglass with Mylar.
