Tony and his crew at Advantage remodeled our house prior to listing. Remodeled kitchen, bathrooms, painted interior and handymen work. His crew of Juan, Paul, Aaron, Robert, Jack and Buck did fantastic work for a very reasonable price. We gave them a tough backsplash to do and Paul is frankly an artist. It is some of the best tile work I've ever seen! Highly recommend for any project.
I never leave reviews, but I’m making this one exception because Sean, John and the whole team did an exceptional job building our screen porch out in Madison County. No detail was too small, and Sean and John‘s advice was always excellent. From the stamped concrete floor, to the seamed metal roof and copper gutters no detail was ignored. And the overall result, with beautiful views over the surrounding countryside, is just spectacular. Thank you so much!
These guys rebuilt my nextdoor neighbors' deck and it looks amazing, so I had them do mine this past summer; I absolutely love it. It was a huge project--my deck is pretty big, and two stories--so there were 2-4 guys out every day for quite a stretch and they were a pleasure to have around. Jerry, Tyler, Buck, and Carl did terrific work in addition to being friendly, polite, and considerate, even on hundred-degree days :-) The price of the job was very reasonable and they got it built as quickly as it could be done well, no disappearing for days or mysterious breaks in the middle of the job. One thing I will point out to anyone considering Advantage Handyman for a big project: when I paid my deposit to secure the contract, I put it on my credit card. At that time, no mention was made of sharing the credit card number with anyone else, or billing anything to it automatically. Months later, when the guys arrived to start the job, I asked the project manager how much I owed at that time, and he quoted me the figure from our contract, a third of the total labor estimate; I gave him a check for that amount, and assumed I would receive an invoice for the materials at some point later on. I was *stunned* to then discover, a couple of days later, a $12k charge on my credit card--Advantage had shared my credit card # with Better Living and opened a tab. I found this practice to be completely insane; not only was I not given a heads-up that this charge was about to be applied, I wasn't even asked whether that was how I wanted to pay for what we all knew was going to be an extremely large amount. It's one thing to put a deposit on a card, another to put a whole deck on it, and while I ultimately decided to go ahead and do that, if I'd been consulted before the charges started going through--because of course, there were many more to follow--I would likely have made a different choice. So if you decide to go with these guys, just be very clear with the folks in the office about what payment method you want to use and when they're going to start charging you for things (and how much at a time!) to save yourself a shock...and potentially getting declined. On the plus side, I guess this practice shows they're not marking up materials.
