We took a carpet cleaner in. The cleaner was not that old but it broke down. The guy at the shop, Johnny, gave us a ticket and said it would be about a week. A week went by, but we didn't hear back from them. I called, and he told us it couldn't be fixed and we should just buy a new one. He asked if we wanted him to dispose of the old one for us. We said yes. We then spent over $300 on a new one from a different brand. My wife used it a few times, and then one of the belts snapped. So, we ordered replacement belts, but weren't able to figure out how to install them correctly. So, we brought that machine in. The new belt was inside, just not... We took a carpet cleaner in. The new belt was inside, just not installed correctly, but in one piece. Johnny, called us a week later and said the pump had froze up and couldn't be fixed without replacing it. He said we should buy a new one, and asked if we wanted him to, again, dispose of this one. We said no, and called the manufacturer. They told me what Johnny had told us was not correct and that we just needed to install the belt correctly and it should work. I called Johnny and told him we would pick our cleaner up. When we got it home, the brand new belt we bought was mysteriously cut... and I mean an obviously clean cut. There is something really fishy going on with these guys. Oh, and by the way, everyone, Bissell has a 5 year warranty on all of their carpet cleaners. We finally had time, ordered a new set of belts, and managed to figure out how to install the needed belt ourselves, and it now works fine.
